The vehicle was built with a number of German engineers.

MAGAZINESSPOT - A surprising step taken by the German manufacturer, Audi, who was working for a rover vehicle landed on the moon. The vehicle was designed to follow the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition with prizes of US $ 30 million United States dollars.

Audi is not alone, manufacturers are working with a number of German engineers, who called themselves Part Time Scientists. Similarly, reported Worldcarfans, Friday, June 26, 2015.

Google Lunar XPRIZE known a race that is destined for the engineers in the world to develop low-cost methods of robotic space exploration. Audi's own role was to assist the team in the field of technical knowledge quattro all-wheel drive, lightweight construction, mobility power and automatic steering.

To be a winner, the vehicle must successfully landed on the moon and exploring at least 500 meters on the lunar surface. The team also must transmit high definition video and images the way back to Earth.

Audi vehicles with the team Part Time Scientists named "Lunar Audi Quatro". This vehicle is equipped with solar panels that can capture sunlight for further channeled into lithium ion batteries.
The plan, vehicles will be launched to the moon in 2017. To get to the moon, the vehicle will enter into a rocket that traveled more than 380 thousand kilometers to the point of landing.

Five-day trip that will lead to a landing area in the north of the equator month, the same point into the landing site of Apollo 17. There, the temperature can reach 300 degrees Celsius.

The team said if the vehicle has been conducting a series of tests at various locations, such as in the Alps and Tenerife, Austria.
In theory, these aluminum vehicles have a maximum speed of 3.6 kilometers per hour. The rough surface of the moon, it will be a challenge for the vehicle.

Later, the vehicle will be equipped with two stereoscopic cameras and one camera in charge of analyzing scientific material.
